I know when I was little I had a cat that would go in heat every few months and crawled around the floor with her butt in the air desperate for action.

I wonder if human female goes into to heat because I've noticed that I always get extra horny 2-3 days before my period. Is this psychological, just something I do because my body subconsciously knows I won't be able get any for 5 days or is there some hormonal biological drive behind it?

Its all hormonal and every women is totally different. Some after their period, some before, some during. However, there is no such thing as a human heat cycle

An 8 year old female is too old to safely have a litter of pups, especially a small breed like the Yorkie. The older they get the more erratic the heat cycles, showing that the hormones are kicking down and breeding could dangerous for the dog. Sounds like you got "taken" by paying that amount of money for a dog that age.

I believe that women actually do have heat cycles. I also believe that these do happen somewhere around their periods. The only reason your body might know that "it" won't see any action for 5 days or so is only by "your" choice. Sometimes the a "ride" up the "red river" is well worth any disadvantages that may appear.

Good luck. Pops

The reason you get horny before your period is because of all the extra hormones in your system.
