I have an exciting business and want to hire someone to build my website, but everyone I have contacted, does not return my call or reply to a simple email. I don't understand? Is this the nature of the business? What can I do to get someone to return a call? Initially make them an offer in my phone message? Help!!!

It's either a money issue or a feasibility issue. Depending on how complicated your proposed web site determines how long it will take to build. Also if your site accepts credit cards, that makes the project more complicated because the web designer is going to have to know back end coding. Very geekish. Also there are certain things you could do on a web site, and certain things you can't. I think, however, it's probably a money issue. Some professional web designers ask for a few thousand dollars to build a 50 page web site.

Web designer is a broad term. There are no requirements. Many "Web Designers" will rip you off and disappear forever. It is possible that they don't think they can take you for enough money, or like someone commented, they can't do what you want.
Try this:
1. Register a domain name first. Make sure YOU own and control the domain. make it something easy to type and remember.
2. sketch what you want on a piece of paper, solidify your ideas.
3. Look around at websites pick 3 that you really like the design. Look for the designers email and contact them. Use the contact info and contact the owners - ask for a recommendation.
4. If all else fails send an email to support@lobo.net, I have my websites there they are reasonably priced and pretty good at what they do.

Not sure how this particular effect is done, but I'm guessing it's a flash video. As over 97% of users have flash, it's a very viable option in web design now.
