Ok, so I'm finally giving in and buying an mp3 player. The thing is I only need it for exercise and occusionally car rides. I've heard good things about the ipod shuffle but I want to be able to choose what songs I'm listening to. Any good suggestions?

If you only need it for exercise, then the shuffle is for you! When your exercising, you dont have time to change tracks. The iPod shuffle does it for you.

Plus, its much much cheaper than a regular iPod.

I thin you should totaly go with the zune mp3 player because it is one of the best mp3 players out there right now. It only cost 250 dollars but it sure worth it with a memory of 30 GB which you could store pictures, movies, and of course music. Ihave one myself and it works like a charm.

ipod nano, if you want a brand name, others that are good are some samsung ones, but they arent too fancy, seems like they would work for you, also check out creative labs zen MP3 players, they are some of my favs. all of the above have screens,
you might want to look at memory size, i thing 1 to 5 GB should be good for you.

hope you find one that fits you well.
