GPA I'll get in Winter: 2.50
GPA I'll get in Spring: 3.62

What will my average GPA be at the end? How do you do that?
Thanks in advance! :)

HOW DO I CALCULATE MY GRADE POINT AVERAGE (GPA)?

Each letter grade has a point value: A = 4 pts, B = 3 pts, C = 2 pts, D = 1 pt, F = 0 pt.

To determine your grade point average (GPA), multiply the number of points for each grade earned times the number of the course’s credits. A “B” (three points) in a three credit course is worth nine points. An “A” (four points) in the same three-credit course is worth 12 points.

Add the total grade-point value for all courses and divide by the total number of attempted credit hours.

GPA Example

Course
Credit Hours
Grade
Points
Quality Points

ENC 1101
3
A
4
12

CGS 2100
3
C
2
6

PSY 2012
3
F
0
0

PEM 1131
1
B
3
3

Total Credits=10

Total Points=21

Divide 21 points by 10 credits = 2.10 grade point average.

You can get a very rough estimate by adding up the three different sums and dividing by three. Your GPA with this method would be 2.79

However it depends on how many credit hours you have. If your current GPA of 2.25 includes say two years of courses, it has a lot more weight then one semester does.

The best way to figure out your GPA then is to go through all your old transcripts, and times the grade you got in a class by the credit hours, add them all up and average it over your total credit hours.

So if you took a 4 credit class and got a 3.5 in it, you would times your grade by your credit, giving you 14.

Do this with all the grades from your classes, add them up, then divide by your total credit hours.

Good luck :)

Unfortunately not enough information has been provided.
Your current GPA was established from a certain number
of credits completed, which was not given. Also the
number of credits earned in the fall and spring were not
given.

Without this information it is impossible to answer your
question.

To calculate your GPA you need to know the total number
of quality points you have earned. A grade of 'C' is worth
2 quality points, while a grade of 'B' is worth 3 quality
points. A grades of 'A' is worth 4 quality points.

Here is an example of calculating your GPA:

Credits Earned____Grade___Quality_Points
______3__________B______3 x 3 = 9
______2__________A______2 x 4 = 8
______4__________C______4 x 2 = 8

Total:__9___________________25

25 / 9 = 2.78

If you are still in high school, all courses are 1 credit courses. The example above is for a typical college GPA.
Good Luck and I hope this helps. Sorry about the table, yahoo has made it difficult to create a table.

As gvfordo pointed out IT DEPENDS ON HOW MANY SEMESTER HOURS YOU'RE CARRYING.

If we assume you took A semester hours in winter and B
semester hours in spring and you retain your current 2.25 for the current semester of C semester hours, then your

average GPA =[2.5A + 3.62B + 2.25C] / [A + B + C]

for the 3 grading periods under consideration. (If you have more than 3 total grading periods on your transcript then you must introduce an additional product term in the numerator(for each additional grading period), and in the denominator you must add additional semester hours
for each grading period.)

For a simple calculation, you'll have to add up all the points and divide by the number of classes. I don't think you can just find the mean of the three GPAs.

For college, you have to multiply the number of grade points you earn for a class by the number of units for that class. Do this for every class and add all those numbers together. Then divide that sum by the total number of units.

Assuming all sessions are weighted the same, it would be a straight average of the scores:

(2.25 + 2.50 + 3.62) / 3 = 2.79 GPA

An average is = add a number of items in a list, then divide the total my how many items were in the list.
Add your three items then divide the total by the 3(since there were three items in the list).
2.25
2.50
3.62

8.37 / 3 = 2.79

Sum the values and divide by "n" that is 3.
Ave GPA = (2.25 + 2.50 + 3.62) : 3
Av = 2,8 round

add them all together and divide by the number of things you added together. that is how you find the average of anything.
