Try exercise, chamomile tea, or a someone to talk to; maybe there's something going on in the person's head that's keeping him/her awake...

I say,
1) Make sure you are not sleeping at any point during the day.
2) Take no stimulants four hours before bed time like caffeine, nicotine
3) Just before bed have a hot milky drink like hot chocolate
4) Spend the hour before bed doing something that does not keep your brain too stimulated - try to relax
5) In Britain if all else fails try a herbal remedy like Nytol or Kalms

That person should talk to a doctor and find out if they qualify for sleep therapy. It could be that changes in diet or exercise will alleviate the problem but if not, the doctor will have options to recommend.

well what worked well for me and i know it sounds childish but i slept like a baby, is drink a glass of warm milk before they go to bed. when milk is heated it produces a chemical that soothes you and makes you fall right to sleep. also dont have them watch t.v. within the half before they go to bed the images excite your brain causing you to not sleep as well. And one other solution could be that something on this person's mind isnt at ease and he/she is stressing about. Try talking to the person and try yoga for relaxation!! hope it helps..
