The ph is 7.1, the temp is around 77, and I have a bubbler and a filter system going. I think there may be too much current but I didnt see anything about the books that I'm reading. They seem fine otherwise...

No, that is not normal. Check your ammonia nitrate and nitrate levels. I'm guessing there is some type of toxin in the water. If not, keep checking on them and watch their behavior.
Also, before long the oscar will try to snack on the barbs. They grow fast and eat everything!

I should add that oscars and tiger barbs do not mix. Oscars will soon grow big enough to swallow full grown tiger barbs whole!

i think that they might not be adjusting to the water and their surroundings well.....all that i can say is keepfeeding them and keep an eye on them every once in a while
