Idiots, people on heavy hallucinagens, or liberals.
For example, I was reading some magazine yesterday and the author *really believed* that Bush didn't win either election, and he's going to continue to stay in power. He was saying get ready for a Police State that's worse than anything North Korea, China or the USSR ever did. And he wrote that after the Democrats already won a bunch more seats in Congress, saying they couldn't stop him. I don't know if he was on heavy hallucinagens or a liberal, but he sure was an idiot.

I don't believe it takes a particular kind of person to believe in a conspiracy. I think conspiracy theories for the most part are fun. My big thing is the knights templar treasure (thanks to da vinci code and national treasure) but, it has opened up a whole new world of reading material for me.

Someone who's paying attention.
I've lived long enough to see conspiracy theories that were pooh-poohed and dismissed turn out to be true.
When people hear the phrase, they tend to think of space aliens, JFK and Elvis. I'm speaking of conspiracy in its real terms--for example, the government's organized cover-up of Iran/Contra, Watergate, the CIA's involvement in any number of assassinations, etc. etc.

People that think "outside the box."
They look for alternative possibilities in life.
But sometimes they do go overboard.
Like the guy that said that missiles went into the World Trade Center on 9/11 not planes. Nutz!

This isn't written in stone, but the "normal" conspiracy theorist is very intelligent and has a great imagination. They look at things from all angles and can imagine other angles that most people haven't thought about.
