They're real, and very dangerous. Although you can control what you ask, that is all. You cannot control the response, reaction, or type of spirit you allow in. And once they have permission to usea a vessel, they may take full advantage of the opportunity.

Kudos to you for quickly finding out what the Ouija board is all about :) Many people don't catch on so quick. Yes, it's the people moving the planchette, either deliberately or via the ideomotor effect. If you have 3 or 4 people who aren't trying to cheat, the effect can be spooky, which is I guess why there are so many stories floating around. People love to believe in mystical and scary things instead of thinking things through.

I tried it a few times when I was younger, playing with my cousins. Nothing ever happened. I think it could be real for some and fake for others. It depends on the person. Some people profess to have the "talent" or "gift" to be able to talk to dead people on the "other side", or be fortune tellers, for example. If you have this 3rd sense a Ouija board might provide and enchanting experience for you. If you're not lucky enough to see or talk to dead people, this will just be another piece of wood. I don't know, just my thoughts...

Ouija Board. What a great champion mare. I've played her many times as well, and she always pays off.

the Ouija is as real as the people using it allow it to be. if everyone there.... should really only be two people using it at a time.... believe in it for what it is, then you will contact a spirit... .or other entity. but if someone says it's hokey, nothing exciting will happen.

I don't think that any company that manufactures games like Scrabble or Candyland is really going to dabble in the occult. . .so yes, ouija boards are fake, but excellent stuff to creep out more gullible friends with.:)

It's fake. My friend and I pulled one out of the attic, followed all the directions, and we sat there for ten minutes waiting for an answer and nothing happened.

I feel it's possible that it's real.
Although scientifically i believe that it is the subconscious mind directing the widget.
Either way, I think they could be a portent to evil.
Best not to dabble.
