x+5 + 2x-1 (2x is on the bottom of x+5, and 4x is on the bottom of 2x-1. In other words, they are the denomenators)

These are suppose to be treated as if they are fractions,
by finding the largest common denomenator,
and then cross multipication, reducing and all of that. Still, either
my algebraic math is wrong, or something
else is wrong. Please help me solve this monster. Thank you very much.

this is a strange problem. i got x+9 over x.

the common denominator i got was 4x, so you multiply everything in the first fraction by 2, so you have 2x+10/4x+2x-9/4x. if iyou add them together you get 4x+9/4x, reduce and i think you get x+9/x.

good luck, this is tough!

Rewriting your situation: [(x+5) / 2x] + [(2x-a million) / 4x] First, you discover the uncomplicated denominator, which occurs to be 4x. with the intention to create this uncomplicated denominator with the left facet fraction, we can multiply the finished fraction via 2/2, a cost of a million. We get: [(2(x+5)) / 2(2x)] + [(2x-a million) / 4x] Simplified: [(2x+10) / 4x] + [(2x-a million) / 4x] next, we can integrate the fractions with the recent uncomplicated denominators. We get: (2x+10+2x-a million) / 4x Now, we can upload like words and simplify: (4x+9) / 4x Voila. Edit: found out the available misinterpretation. stick to Nonny :O) for fixing the equation whilst set equivalent to 0. My answer is completely a simplification of your equation, as i did not see an "= 0" on the tip of your query.

(x+5)/2x+(2x-1)/4x=0
multiply by 4x
2(x+5)+2x-1=0
2x+10+2x-1=0
4x+9=0
4x=-9
x=-9/4
