They learned from their elders- their parents are the others in their community. Their elders guided them, gave them basic knowledge, passed down traditions, etc. They were there to be consulted if need be, but a lot of education came from daily living, figuring things out from day to day as they went along. As the knowledge got passed down by word of mouth (that's called oral history), each generation's knowledge grew. They didn't have schools. They learned from their community and from personal experience.

Traditionally, Native Americans learned from their elders but there was a time during the late 1800s when they received their education from the boarding schools when they were taken by force from the reservations by the white man who wanted to indoctrinate or assimilate them into mainstream American culture by forcing them to lose their culture, i.e. religion and language. The students were taught academics but they were also taught baking and sewing or carpentry and things like that. The goal in essence was not education per say but more of educating them in the ways of the "white man" because they were seen as savages.

Native Americans got the education in the skills they needed to live, and in the beliefs of their people, from their elders -meaning all adults in the community, not just their own blood relations. In turn, they passed these on to their children, and continue to do so today.

from everything around us.we are not cursed with reason.we lived in a world that didn't require money to survive.
what most people consider education is not necessarily a good thing.if it was, then why is your world so full of troubles?
our only worries was the common cold,,then came the white man.

They got all of their education from their elders and from just living. They didn't have schools like we do, they learned more by doing.

Unfortunately, many of them were forced to attend boarding schools where they were not allowed to wear their traditional clothing or speak in their native language.

Well, there you have it. WE learn it from our elders and our people, also from experiences..plus let's not forget, animals. Yes, animals..there is a lot to learn from them. All beings are here for a reason. Try fasting and take a quest, and you should rec'v something from within, to be taught to you from your guidance..vision.
When you really want to do this you can't be manipulated by materialistic items/food/ and other disturbances we have in today's world. You have to learn to be yourself. That's where it all starts. Believe me, it works.
From a woman who 'used' to do this, until a WHITE man spoiled me rotten. Yah, I gotta enjoy this..and boy O boy he is full of love. My kinda guy.
