Have you noticed any correlation between early pregnancy symptoms and early positive HPT results? If your pregnancy symptoms did not start right away or were not severe did you have a negative test result at first? I have a regular cycle and I am 10 days late. My breasts just started getting sore 3 days ago. I definately feel more tired. I took a home pregnancy test today and it was negative. I have been having a cramp in my calf all day, which is not something I get. I had been having very light menstrual cramps off and on, but they stopped a couple days ago. The last time I was pregnant was 13 years ago. I don't remember having much for pregnancy symptoms. ( I found out I was pregnant with my son from a blood test I had to have for other reasons, so I never took a HPT. )

Thanks everyone for your support and advice! I had a blood test done and it was negative. Two days later my period came. Oh well. I guess it just wasn't meant to be this time.

I was 14 days late this month, and have never been late in my life (except for when I was really pregnant) I think it was caused by stress. I had all the typical pregnancy symtpoms..nausea, some light cramping etc for 14 days! Anyway, my point is, I wasnt pregnant and my guess is, neither are you. Those tests are extremely accurate.

I was just like you. I am 4 months pregnant and when I took the HPT, 3 times by the way, they all came back negative and I was having all the symptoms. I though maybe I was just having irregular cycles again or that it was coming from my BC as a side effect being my first time on them. I went to the doctor and she took a urine test which also came back negative so I figued I wasnt pregnant. The symptoms started leaving a little but still no cycle. So a few weeks later the symptoms returned and I made me another doctors appointment and this time they did a blood test and guess what, IT CAME BACK POSITIVE!! I got a kick out of that. This is my first pregnancy and I was walking around all this time pregnant with symptoms but all the test came back negative except the blood test. So what I am trying to say is urine test dont work all the time on all women. Go to the doctor and take a blood test to make sure. This will be the best thing. Good Luck

I had 3 negative pregnancy tests and no symptoms either. I just knew I was pregnant because we were trying and I could just tell - intuition I guess. If you are tired, that is a sure sign, but you don't necessarily have to be naseous or anything to be pregnant. I had to confirm my pregnancy at the doctors office because the tests kept saying negative or the line was too faint for me to tell. I would suggest you go to the doctor to confirm, especially since you are starting symptoms and your period is really late by now.

I would wait a week and than try again. I tried the same pregnancy test and than i waited 3 days and took another one this time using clear blue and it was positive.

Is good to take a pregnancy test at home, but is more secure in a doctor's office

I'm a nurse. The blood pregnancy test is the more accurate one. I would have that one done.

sounds like you might be preggo. i would make an appt with your dr.and ask for a blood test to be 100%. if spotting contines, i would take it easy in case of a possible m.c.
