How come people dont know about this country, which is going thru a horrible war.Since I am Somalian but I was born in the U.S.A I deaply care about Somail.What do you think.

As a Marine who was put there to keep the peace by Clinton, let me tell you of my experience in Somalia. It was hot all the time, the smell of human feces was atrocious, the people did not want us there. We were peacekeepers when we should have rid the vermin (Muslims/AL queda) out of there when we had the chance and without regard for human life. The Ethiopians cleaned that mess up in a week, they knew if they did not do it the crazies would come to their country and claim it. There is no American interest in Somalia. If you care so much go back and tell me I am wrong. It is a good thing your parents got out, and thank god everyday that you live in the USA,

It will be difficult convincing Americans to care about a poor African country and don't count on the UN or the Arab League to do anything useful. I also wonder why there was little international protest when Ethiopia attacked Somalia. I wonder if the opponents of the Ethiopian backed government will engage in guerilla warfare. Somalia is a disaster.

My dear friend,unfortunately all what nations are concerned about is their own INTERESTS and their own BENEFITS..Same is the case for US,I mean its funny when people say that US went in somalia for their help and somalians didnt want their help so therefore US stopped helping them....There are nations in which US is present at the moment and clearly not a single citizen of that nation wants them there but their still there for all the unlogical reasons like WOMD.etc...the reason why they are there and not in SOMALIA is that they have their own INTERESTS...and thats not the case for US only thats the case for every nation in this world whether be it ARABIC,WESTERN or anyother nation...EVERY NATION IS SELFISH ENOUGH TO JUST THINK ABOUT THEIR OWN BENEFITS WHETHER BE IT AN ARABIC,ASIAN,WESTERN OR ANYOTHER NATION...
and besides we shouldnt expect everything from US only...I mean US does some how contribute aid to these african nations...Its also the duty of other nations such as other western and asian nation to contribute for SOMALIAS welfare

i do too with the war against ethiopia. my dad is ethiopian and my moms somalian and i dont want any countries getting hurt in mogodishu.

Somalia proved that they hate Americans when we went and tried to help, tried to make sure food got to hungry people. The regular, everyday people threw rocks and spit on our dead soldiers.
So....why should we care about them anymore at all? We shouldn't. They can solve their own problems all by themselves.
