We live in a rural area and use water from the well. Our waste water goes through a drain field in the front of our property (not a septic system). The draining is slowing down in my bathtub, but not in my son's. I assume it's because of my hair, but it's too far down to reach it. So what can I use that is safe for this system?
Thank you all in advance!! *_*

instead of chemicals, try this:
fill the bottom of the tub with pure HOT water, remove the (2) retainng screws from the drain valve lever and pull it up and out, did the water go down if so good if not, then shove a rag in the now open vent pipe and then plunge, after water goes down check for proper lift/drop on the barrel (you want it to drop enough to seal the drain but yet lift high enough for proper drainage) replace screws and tighten

this should work for you.
also:
invest in a drain gaurd it'll catch a majority of the hair that would otherwise go down the drain

Try Professional Strength Liquid Plumber. (You can get it at Lowes or Home Depot, etc.) I would also suggest you use a plunger after one application, then do the PSLP again. Once it's cleared, you may want to consider getting a top cap drain (it's a screen that fits over the top of the bathtub drain) to prevent this from happening again. Another thing a plumber once told me to do was to use the PSLP at least once a month, to keep your drains running smooth. Hope this helps.

Elle has the answer, leave the chemical in for a period of time to let it work. Sulfuric acid should only be used by a plumber and not into a drain field.

draino and a plunger- try the plunger first with hot water, plunge while the water is draining and try to bring the hair up- I did this in mine and I did not need draino. You will have to plug up the air vent before you begin- I used a wash cloth. The vent should be at the bottom of the lever for the stopper.

Did you take the drain cover off ? If you did then try a coat hanger and if that doesnt work you could go buy a snake they are pretty pricey. Or try drano or call a plumber
