Green Amethyst can be a confusing gem as it is traded under a variety of names and is even sometimes mistaken for other gemstones (e.g. Peridot and Tourmaline). The green variety of Quartz, Green Amethyst is also known as Vermarine, Green Quartz, Lime Citrine or by its gemological name, Prasiolite. Although reasonably affordable, it is unusual and remains a collector’s gemstone.
Green Amethyst’s gemological name is derived from the Greek words “Prason” meaning leek (due to its colour similarities with the vegetable) and “Lithos” meaning stone
With beautiful colours ranging from pastel yellow green to deep forest green, Green Amethyst is a tough gemstone making it ideal for everyday wear. Green Amethyst is mostly mined in Brazil and Arizona, U.S.A.

Prasiolite is a gem with which one can really be confused. It is traded with variety of names and sometimes mistaken with expensive gems like Green Beryl, Peridot and Tourmaline. The green variety is also named as Vermarine, Lime Citrine or Green Amethyst. Inexpensive, but a true collector's gemstone.
The name, prasiolite has been derived from the Greek words "Prason" and "Lithos," which mean 'leek,' due to color similarities with vegetables, and 'stone' simultaneously. It is believed that prasiolite facilitates the gap between the physical and spiritual aspects of life. It attracts prosperity through strengthening the mind, emotions and will.
The color of prasiolite varies from pale yellow green to that with the deeper shades of green. This stone is ideal for everyday wear and it is perfect for a wide variety of applications. It is mined in Brazil and Arizona (USA). The hardness of prasiolite is 7 on Mohs scale.

those are wonderful! i desire a eco-friendly amethyst ring very badly, yet i needed a diamond as my engagement ring. in case you want it as an engagement ring, then get it. the really component that you may imagine about is your wedding ceremony band. once you're going to placed on a band along with your engagement ring, it will be troublesome to locate one to compare it. once you're really going to placed on your wedding ceremony band on my own, then it would not count number. the fairway amethyst earrings are very great.

Comes from Brazil.
Sometimes it comes from Arizona.
It's a very pretty gemstone. It's basically green quartz, but it looks prettier than it sounds.
