I learned on one too, 9th grade. I can't believe all those that said computer! christ, I'm not that old am I?

What's a dot-matrix printer, or a tape drive?
Or a rotary telephone? a record player?

I've seen some that said Underwood. No motor. If you weren't careful your fingers would go through the key sticks. I prefer a computer. If you do a lot of creative writing, moving text around is a snap. Also it helps to see what you're doing. I guess when they were first invented they were a tremendous thing back then. I guess it's what you're used to. The computer, to me, is the best invention possibly in the last five hundred years.

No. They were stumped. A typewriter is something used before computers to formally do papers on. Since the word processor and computer printer has been introduced, it's rarity now a days.

A typewriter is an old fashioned machine that people use(d) ta type reports and books and things like that.

When I went to high school we used one of those things to write articles for the newspaper. Computers were big things used in banks.

typewriter wuz fun in highschool, we passed notes around class and wrote letters in spare time,
who thought we would have a screen now instead of paper .

Type writers are still used today too just not as often.
