which is better when playing basketball shooting at the hoop or trying to hit backboard i think their must be?

a reason for why shooters try to hit all net rather then hit backboard but i wanna kno why my friend thinks its all show and trying to hit backboard is better

from straight away going for the hoop is better but if you are at an angle the backboard is better for a bank shot because there is a larger room for error and still being able to make the shot

you can hit the backboard in many places and still make a shot but it's best only when you have a good angle on it

well some people say the backboard shot is the hardest, straight up it isnt, but from a acute angle it is really hard, your friend doesnt really have to show off, you show him what a good swoosh looks like and he will will shut up. Players try to hit the backboard when driving to show how high they can jump as well as make some noise.
