Has been ordinary with the ball, bad with the bat, the "small things", such as fielding have been woeful. His effort, or lack of, to get back to the stumps to run Warne out off Cook's throw was terrible. The first thing a young player learns is to do such things, and it doesn't take talent!

Thanks for your interest Vakayil K, but you seem to have missed the point. Every side must have a best and a worst in their number. I propose that Mahmood makes basic cricket errors that would make a 10 year old blush, and that this makes him the worst of the England 11.

I DONT THINK HE IS THE WORST PLAYER THIS SERIES,HE IS A FAIRLY NEW PLAYER THAT WILL TAKE TIME TO SETTLE INTO THE SIDE,HE IS QUICK,YOUNG AND CAN MOVE THE BALL GIVE HIM TIME. I WOULD POINT THE FINGER AT TWO OTHER PLAYERS ONE BEING THE CAPTAIN FLINTOFF WHO HAS STRUGGLED WITH BOTH BAT AND BALL AND USED RIDICULOUS FIELD PLACINGS AND JUDGEMENT THROUGHOUT THE SERIES,THE OTHER IS HARMISON WHO AS THE MAIN STRIKE BOWLER NEEDED TO LEAD FROM THE FRONT INSTEAD OF BOWLING A HEAP OF RUBBISH AND WHO LOOKED TO HAVE A GENERALLY POOR ATTITUDE,COULD YOU IMAGINE GLEN MC GRATH EVER WANTING TO GO HOME BECAUSE HE'S HOMESICK?

Technically, I would say yes, only if you are going off the 11 that played in the Sydney Match. If you are going off teh whole series, then I would say no, that title would then be shared by Geraint Jones and Ashley Giles.
Jones' keeping was shambolic, and his batting was worse. Two dismissals that stand out were his 2nd innings dismissals in Adelaide and Perth.
Giles - his bowling was a pentrating as a plastic knife. I could have posed more problems for the Aussie batsmen. He was picked due to perceived better batting and fielding than Monty, yet Monty showed more fight and will with his batting, and he didnt drop a catch that cost 107 runs, the match and the series.

If he was worst cricketer, he will not be in the National Team. May be yesterday was a bad day for him. Such things happens with every player. The best fielder in the South African Team, Gibbs dropped a sitter from Steve Waugh in the World Cup Match, which cost South Africa the match and chance of winning the world cup.

Along with Anderson, I would agree with you. I think that they should both go back to their counties and bowl as many overs that they can in competitive matches.
I can't stand either of them, however, Mahmood does bowl very fast and he can still fill out. His radar is all over the place at the moment.

he has been bad, but HARMISON has been woeful. b4 the match he said, " i cant wait to go home", this is the opening bowler, and he doesnt even want to open the bowling. he has no desire to play when the team is losing, and should be dropped. at least mahmood wants to have a go.
