Is there really that much nastiness in need of venting?

It doesn't CAUSE bad behavior; rather, it REVEALS character (whether good or bad).

In my case sometimes it is just the drugs talking and not me...
or frustration at typing the same thing 20 times and not gettting it spelled right...
or .. just getting tired of reading the same question over and over by different people.. every week (doesn't anyone pay attention to the questions that Yahoo! shows that were asked previously on the same subject?)...
Some people get on here after a bad day.. looks like some people NEVER have a good day...
and.. you really need to remember that 14 year olds are just nasty by nature.

Basically, yes. There's so much hatred on this site it's amazing. Most of these people are losers or cowards who haven't got courage enough to deal with what or whomever they've got a beef with. So they come on here and flame throw for attention. Don't get me wrong - some occasional venting can be healthy.
But for some of the trolls who keep coming on here with the same racist, homophobic and bigoted remarks couched as rhetorical questions, there's more than a little venting going on. They've got life issues they can't deal with or failures they won't accept are their responsibility. So they come on here to ask us why such and such people are so bad.
Makes them feel less like the losers they are.

Their own insecurities. Deep down they know they are losers and have to take it out on other people and the internet has provided them an awesome, annonomous venue to do just that!

it's not that they suddenly become mean.. it's just because they are free to be themselves.. most of the time they're just pretending to be nice..
