So I am not going to lie when drop food on the ground accidentally i usually pick it back up and eat it. Well what if it just rained and theres a puddle on my deck or the sidewalk. Would the water be safe enough to drink? Sure I'd never go to that extreme and start drinking puddle water but i would like to know if its possibly safe.

Honey, it isn't even safe to pick up and eat food from the floor. The five second rule is bs- a ton of bacteria beings to grow immediately. Saw it on mythbusters. But, hey, that puddle water - all good. It's not like it's outside where birds crap of the ground or it's all dirty or anything.

Only if you're a puppy, whose idea of a delightful drinking experience is popping into the toilet bowl!

ANY kind of standing water presents a serious health risk.
