Grant Hill in his prime (When he played for the Pistons) or Kobe. Me and friends at work were having a really tuff time with this one, because we all know that Hill was a better defenders, rebounder, and passer. We weren't sure who was the better scorer, because Kobe can put up points, but Hill could score with a high percentage. What is your opinion?

Here are some of their comparisons below:

Scoring: Kobe wins the battle as he averages 24 points compared to Grant's 20.3 points. And think, Kobe is still improving his scoring average as we speak.

Rebounding: Grant wins the rebounding by having 7.2 compared to Kobe 5.1. And Grant should since he's taller and plays as a forward.

Passing: Grant wins by a few by having 5.3 to kobe's 5.1 assists. So this basically is a draw.

Steals and Blocks: Defensively, I just looked at their stats for steals and blocks, and surprisingly they have the same exact stats for both categories.

Percentages: Kobe wins this by having the better percentages in both 3 point shots and also free throws. Grant only wins in FG%, and this is because he took less shots than Kobe.

In some areas, you can't really compare because they play different positions. Especially in the rebounding, Grant is expected to get more rebounds, as he's a forward and not a guard like Kobe. But looking at their intangibles, Kobe is a warrior and can really take over a game whenever he needs to. While Grant is more of a sixth man or role person. I have to say Kobe is the better player. It's not always the stats, just watch him and you'll know what I mean.

i'll pick kobe. hill is not a better defender than kobe. i think they are about equall, defensively.
kobe has the edge on scoring, while hill has it on passing the rock. but it seems that even kobe now start to pass the rock too. so if hill got 7 for his passing skill, kobe will get 6.
one thing that i chose kobe over hill was his will to win the game.when the game is on the line, kobe will be a better clutch performer. hill has not yet proved himself in this area.
