Yes she is-people just admire her so much that they don't see it, or don't want to see it. But, yes I do think she is really prejudice and it has gotten worse over the years, I can't even watch her anymore. The world is made up of many races and you should care for everyone the same no matter what color they are.

Oprah isn't prejudice because she does things for the communities that help raise her and make her to the person she is today. Because of her race and up bringing she's been able to see some of the areas that mainstream America dont see very often. She know about living in projects, being abused, and not having the same opportunites as others, based on skin color. She grew up during the time when it was worst than today, with racism. So, she want to help in that area that she can relate to, I say more power to her. She also speak about Americans always wanting things, material things. She is right. Yeah, she is rich but she had to work very hard for every dime she has, no one gave her anything, and she was not given all the breaks in life. She also talks about our kids want everything immediately not wanting to work for those things themselves. What is wrong with thinking kids should not be given everything and should work for some things. I think your question stems from jealousy. You are mad that this woman because she have been able to make hers and you haven't made yours. It's really not about helping someone white because she does that as well. If you take the people in New Orleans who lost the most in the Hurricane it was Africian Americans from the projects and poor sections of New Orleans. I think every rich/wealthy Africian American should give to those people. Those are the people that help make them sucessful. Alot of people would not have made it without the backing/support of their culture. Oprah's money is her money, who she gives it to is her business. I wonder how often you ask is Bill Gates prejudice or what about the Walmart family. I don't see them putting up a charity booth in the black neighborohood.

I wouldn't say she was prejudiced as much as she is biased. Her shows primarily revolve around the interests of women and most of her interest lean towards her own race. If AIDS has devastated Africans it's because they don't know how to control their Sexual Promiscuity. Did you ever notice that even the poorest Africans are still popping out more African Babies? I do find it nauseating that any American celebrity that has become so wealthy from the support of Americans can take their wealth to another country. Yes there are millions of Americans that desperately need help while wealthy people like her and Bill Gates and Warren Buffet sit on their money and make tidbit donations that scarcely really help anyone as it has a trickle down affect while they pat themselves on the back about how good they are. Gates and Buffet combined are worth 90 Thousand Million Dollars. Staggering isn't it! Why is there poverty in America? I'd personally like to ask them

That is complete bull. I watch her quite a bit. Sure, she does a lot for african americans, and for africans, but what is wrong with helping out your own people? Africans are some of the poorest people in the world. And she doesnt only help black people. On the episode where she gave the entire audience cars - there was plenty of white people. Maybe it is just that more black people ask the show for help - they relate with oprah cause she used to be one of them. plus, black people get discriminated against alot more than poor white people, so she is just helping to stop that a bit and give them a chance

White people have gotten lots of help in the past and the black people in Africa are very poor and African Americans have had very unfortunate lives. A lot of them have no food to eat, no clothes and come from a background of slavery. How common are white slaves? There's nothing wrong with her wanting to make the world a better place.

Why do white people need help arent they superior to us (blacks)?. I made this conclusion from what I see on t.v. and what white people write on here. I love Oprah and she should continue doing everything for black people because they are being oppressed.

I don't think Oprah is prejudice because she wants to help African Americans, her community, or the people in living in Africa. It is her money and she can do whatever she wants with it. Besides, she gives plenty of her money to non-African American foundations and America too it just doesn't get publicity. Plenty of Caucasian celebrities give money to non-African American causes and that doesn't make them racist or prejudice. Africa and the African American community in America needs help and aid so many celebrities and activist like Bill Gates, George Clooney, Bono, and Angelina Jolie wants to help. Their is nothing wrong with trying to better and help one group of people to reach their potential. Finally, New Orleans is 85% black, so of course you are going to see aid given to African Americans, plus a lot of Caucasian received aid and help too during Hurricane Katrina it just wasn't in the media.

I don't know her personally so can't really say. But I can imagine that the ppl of Katrina do need her help just as much as or more than others whether they be black, white, yellow or green. I think she is no different than other celebs who use their money for the greater good. I do wonder tho' if she (and other celebs) does it cause she cares or if she does it cuz it's a tax deduction for herself.

Please stop with the Oprah bashing.

The continent of Africa is a mess. Aids has devastated the entire continent and there are over 13 armed conflicts raging across all parts of Africa including a war in Somalia, the Darfur region in Sudan, The Congo where African peace-keepers are. Ethiopia and Eritrea are on the verge of war again. The highest crime rates in the entire world are in South Africa.

Oprah has done her fair share in the US. She always does the "My Favorite Things" episodes where she gives away expensive stuff to every audience member including cars.

Oprah has been more than generous in her U.S. Charity work.

If you do not like what Oprah is doing, then make your own millions and donate it to people in the US. This is the land of freedom and opportunity. Many people in Africa have no freedom or opportunity.

I applaud her efforts.
