while he's not coaching, or does the assistant coach who's taking over get the W's? i've always wanted to know that... Thanks!

no the coach who is actually in charge for the game gets credit for the win

if he starts the game and gets ejected or has to leave he still gets credit for the W

but whoever is in charge for the game gets credit one way or the other

Pat Riley does not get credit for the wins. However, in the unlikely event they win another NBA Championship again he would get a ring.

He doesn't get credit for the wins. Sort of like me not getting a paycheck from Microsoft, because I don't work there.

yes he does, Stan van Gundey didnt do ****, he led his team to the conference finals WOOOOOOW, pat riley didnt just lead them to the eastern conference finals, but to the nba finals and not just that, but they won the finals!
