Batwomen (Who?) is out, are they making a movie about her?

I just heard in the news today that she is out of the closet. Are they making her a movie? That is the only reson why it would make the news in my eyes.

The reason this is making news is because this is one of the the few superheroes in DC and Marvel who is "out".

She is one of two Batwomen in DC history. The first was Kathy Kane and was in love with Batman. She was introduced in the 50's and killed off later.

The current batwoman shares the same name, Kathy Kane, but is no relation to the former Batwoman. This incarnation of Batwoman is a lesbian.

Keep in mind that Batwoman is not to be confused with Batgirl, who has been a continual presence since being introduced in the 60's.

NO but she is the first debuting hero ( super or otherwise) to be openly gay.DC comics has had a few supporting characters who are gay but I think this is the first time in history that a character( and a female at that) has been openly gay. I guess comics are growing up
