is the best for a married couple traveling without kids ( best features for adults I mean)? Price is not extreamly important, but nothing outragously expensive. We will be there at least a week. have you actually stayed there?

I don't know why people always say Disney's Grand Floridian Resort is the best. It's only the most expensive because it's Walt Disney World's Flagship Resort. Disney's Polynesian Resort has the highest return rate of all the Walt Disney World Resorts, which makes it the best Resort on property. And the rates are actually only ten dollars cheaper than the rates at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort.

Disney's Polynesian Resort is definitely the best Resort at Walt Disney World for couples. My boyfriend and I have stayed there the past two years, we already have reservations for another stay there, and I don't imagine we'll ever stay at any of the other Resorts. We have the most incredible, romantic time! It's a Deluxe Resort, and the Deluxe Resorts are especially geared for adults. There are all sorts of wonderful features at Disney's Polynesian Resort. First off, the lobby is gorgeous, like a tropical rainforest with luscious green plants and small waterfalls. Inside the lobby are three shops - BouTiki, Trader Jacks, and Samoa Snacks. There are also three restaurants - Captain Cook's, 'Ohana, and the Kona Cafe. My personal favorite is the Kona Cafe. Try the famous Tonga Toast and a smoothie at breakfast, and try the wok-seared duck pot stickers and the Kilauea Torte. There's also the wonderful Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show over at Luau Cove. Inside the lobby is the Tambu Lounge for drinks and appetizers. It's a nice environment for the adults. There's a very nice art gallery in the lobby as well. There's a short jogging/walking trail to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and the spa is right along the trail between the two Resorts. There are two awesome pools - the Nanea Volcano Pool and the "quiet" pool. Near the volcano pool is a marina with boat rentals, bike rentals, and guided fishing excursion pick-ups. There's also a couple lovely white-sand beaches with fantastic views of the Electrical Water Pageant that takes place on the Seven Seas Lagoon and Wishes Nighttime Spectacular that takes places at the Magic Kingdom, and there are a few hammocks that are fun to lay in. One of the best parts about staying at Disney's Polynesian Resort is that it's easy to get almost anywhere else on Walt Disney World property. You can take a shuttle bus to any of the Theme Parks, Water Parks, or Downtown Disney. There's a Water Launch to the Magic Kingdom, but the Monorail will take you there, too. The Monorail will also bring you to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Contemporary Resort, and the Transportation & Ticket Center. And there's a short walkway to the Transportation & Ticket Center where you can get on the Monorail to EPCOT or the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom. Then there's the walkway to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort if you'd like to use the Spa or have a romantic dinner at Victoria & Albert's or one of the other restaurants there. It's fairly simple to get to any of the WDW destinations, and there's quite a few options, so if the buses are running slow you can just use the Water Launch or Monorail, or whatever. My favorite part of Disney's Polynesian Resort are the Guest Rooms. You know, you think since you're going to Walt Disney World you won't be in the room much because you'll be at the theme parks most of the time, but my favorite part of our days at WDW was relaxing out on our patio at the end of the night. The staff at this Resort is outstanding. We told them it was our anniversary (but it wasn't... shhh!) and they upgraded us to Concierge for free. We got to stay in the Concierge Longhouse and our room had the best view on property, literally. A view across the entire Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake - Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to the left, the Magic Kingdom Park, Cinderella Castle, and Space Mountain straight across, and Disney's Contemporary Resort to the right. Every night when we returned from the parks, no matter how late it was, we'd spend at least 15 minutes relaxing out on our patio. It's so amazing. We go in the summer, so the temperature in the evening is perfect. No one's out and all you can hear are the horns of the boats on the Lagoon and the howl of the dog (statue) outside of the Haunted Mansion at the Magic Kingdom. We could even watch the fireworks and the Water Pageant right from our room and patio if we were there while they were taking place.

If you stay at Disney's Polynesian Resort try to request room 1516 in the Hawaii (Concierge) Longhouse. Room 1221 in the Aotearoa Longhouse was nice, too. I don't think Disney's Polynesian Resort is too expensive at all considering my boyfriend and I have had the best vacation experiences there, but if it doesn't fit your budget, maybe try Disney's Boardwalk Inn. It's a very pretty Resort and there's a lot of on-site entertainment for adults.

Hope I could help! Have a magical time!
(Feel free to email me if you have any other questions.)

* Just to correct the person below, you may not go to any of the Disney Resorts to use the different pools. You are only allowed to use the pools at the Resort you're staying at. It is now required that you bring your Resort I.D. with you to the pool so Cast Members may check that you are an actual Guest of the Resort.

My favorite without kids is the Yacht and Beach Club.

Three very important reasons: Location, Location, Location. The Yacht Club is one of the most conveniently located resorts on Disney's property. The Yacht Club is within walking distance of Epcot's World Showcase, Disney's Boardwalk, the Swan, and the Dolphin hotels. It is also just a short boat ride away from the Disney-MGM Studios.

Yacht Club Galley -- Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a casual nautical atmosphere. The Galley almost always has tables available, but an Advance Reservation, is recommended if possible.

Yachtsman Steakhouse -- Serving dinner only. This is the Yacht Club's premier restaurant (pictured below), serving tasty cuts of superbly aged beef, poultry and seafood selections are also available here. An Advance Reservation is highly recommended for dinner. They are usually able to accommodate early (5:30-7:00) and late (9:00-9:45) walk up arrivals. A party of two is more likely to be seated more quickly than a party of six or more. Although this rule normally applies even to the busiest of seasons, there are no guarantees. Always make an Advance Reservations if possible to avoid disappointment.

If you like fine dining, you will be in the center of it all. Both the Yacht Club and Beach Club resorts have many fine locations, as does Disney's Boardwalk just across Crescent Lake, and the international flavor of World Showcase in Epcot. If you like to swim, one of the best hotel pools, Stormalong Bay, is right under your nose. There are several other recreational activities available at the Yacht Club (described below).

The Cape May Cafe hosts a daily character breakfast buffet (7:30 - 11:00) featuring Beachy Goofy and his friends. This has to be one of the largest amounts of breakfast foods I've ever seen. In the evening, the Cafe hosts a Clam Bake buffet. Folks seem to love the Seafood Buffet!

I hope you have a wonderful time!!!!

The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is probably the least kid-friendly, most adult-oriented resort on property. It's very elegant and ornate and isn't designed to catch kid's attention. They have a spa, pool, tennis courts, boat rentals and other activities for adults. Citrico's, Narcoossee's, Victoria and Albert's, and the Grand Floridian Cafe are also great restaurants. It's a great place for romantic getaways. I proposed to my wife after dinner at Citrico's in front of the fountain in the courtyard. Then we watched the firework show from our room. Very romantic.

I like the Grand Floridian,. but I like the Boardwalk much better. The rooms are very comfortable and relaxing. It's a very active resort and has a lot to offer with restaurants and entertainment outside along the Boardwalk. Definitely a nice place for adults. If you're looking for a more relaxed, quiet experience, check out Port Orleans Riverside. It's perfect for quiet strolls through the resort or carriage rides alongside the river. Of these three resorts, Riverside is probably my favorite.

Stay at the Port Orleans Riverside resort. We have stayed here at least 4 different times. The main reason I like it so much is because it is more quiet and reserved then the other resorts. It's also very beautiful and has a great food court. I think its one of the best resorts to go without kids because of how quiet it is. It is in the moderate price range also.

Please note that whichever resort you choose you will be treated Disney style! Staying on the property makes for an even better vacation so no matter what resort you choose, you will have a great experience.

The Polynesian is one of the Original properties that will more gear towards adults over children. That would be my recommendation.

This one will be a property that isn't over the top. There are some others, but I could only advise further in speaking with you.

The All Star Sports are WAY geared towards families with the Dalmatians, characters and Disney bed spreads so I'm not sure where that recommendation came from! The Animal Kingdom is beautiful with a Savannah (animal view), however this one is most likely going to have quite a few more children.

All properties families are welcome, so there is no real way to no until arrival. If you stick with one that doesn't tend to have as many though you should be ok. Otherwise you could go to one of the campground properties and get a more private place for your honeymoon.

How come I get a thumbs down? I think it is the person above me who is upset because I said the All Stars woudln't be good for a Honeymooner.

I would recommend the Boardwalk Resort to you for the following reasons; very nice upscale accomodations(though not as regal as Grand Floridian), several dining options on site, ESPN Club, dueling pianos bar,and dance club on site. Bike and boat rentals on site. Very close in proximity to two of the four parks(a very short boat ride to MGM and Epcot ,no busses) you could literally walk to Epcot and enter near the France pavillion in world showcase, also the evening fireworks at Epcot are visible from the grounds without even entering Epcot. Also BWalk is relatively close in proximity to Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island, the busses run very efficiently and yet your time spent on them would be kept at a minimum.BWalk has an adequate swimming pool, and youre likely to encounter the family environment at all disney pools, but keep in mind that while staying at a Disney resort, you are welcome to visit and use any/all resort pools with the exception of the pools at Beach Club and Animal Kingdom Lodge. Weve stayed there a couple of times and really enjoyed it.

The Grand Floridian is the best, but unfortunately a bit on the pricey side. It's a Disney-owned hotel and very convenient for getting to the parks.

If you don't mind staying outside the parks, try the Grand Cypress. They have horseback riding and great restaurants.
