I gave up smoking three years ago and still think that cigs are tasty, smell good and make people look cooler. It's all very well people banging on about the health hazards, but until they can come to terms with the fact that smoking is also cool they're never going to talk people out of it. If you want to smoke, it's up to you.
But I do feel a shed-load better since I gave up. And I'm better at my job (singer) and now I'll live forever too. Probably. So for me it was worth the trade.

How about a reality check letter??

One day a week waiting for oxyen delivery.
Can't go anywhere with out an 02 tank on your side
The dumb stares you get when your out in public
You can't have normal sex
You can't fly on most airlines
($595 per week for an 02 system that you can take on an airline)
2 Drs apt per month
Can't work
About $1000 a month at the drug store
90% of the meds you take make you sicker than you were
(One of your Drs don't want to listen to your "side Effect problems")
3 oxygen systems in your home for survival

Yup keep on sucking on those butts, you'll join me in a few years

My father was a smoker. When I was in high school, it was hard for me to sleep at night because I was afraid he was going to die before morning. He'd cough so hard that he threw up, and then a few minutes later the coughing would start again, and he'd throw up again. Cool? Oh, yeah, sure. Well, actually he lasted until I was in college. I am so sorry my daughter will never know her grandfather. He was a good man, but he got addicted at 14 and just couldn't give cigarettes up, even to save his life.

My Mother and I really miss him a lot. He tried to give up the cigarettes several times, the last time about 12 hours before he died. Mom had to support our family for a long time because he was too sick to work, and she hated it that the money she earned was used to buy him cigarettes to keep him sick.

I enjoy smoking too but my husband has just had by pass surgery because he smoked heavily .I will try to give it up to encourage him not to start again.I dont think people who have never smoked have the right to be nasty to smokers , the government used to encourage the use of the highly addictive substance called tobacco.

I really, thoroughly agree with you! People, my friends, have quit around me, and people ask me if I will ever quit, and I always say that NO, I will never quit because I can never see it happening, ever!!! I Love it just as much as you my friend, I really can imagine not smoking.

Plus. I dont believe it will kill me, my Grandad has smoked all his life and he's about 90, he is fit for an old man, and if I lived till 90 whether I smoked or not, I would wonder what the sense in living was!!!!! Roll on Marlboro!!!!

Mate, iv tried smoking a few times and I hated it. Dont the anti-smoking adverts on tv put you off?Its simple. Drop the smoking habbits and you will start to notice a difference in health. I go down to the gym with a friend that smokes alot and shes alot unfitter than me.

I know what you mean, its so addicting. They say that its easier to reform a drug addict than a smoker. I think the fact is that it is an affordable habit. You can dig in your junk drawer and gather enough change to buy a pack. If heroin and cocaine were so affordable we would have a bigger problem in this society.
