The land in the Ventian Ghetto?

I am wondering, who owned the actual land in the Venetian Ghetto? Was it owned by some Lord, was it owned the community at large? How was it then managed? Were there individual plots that were rented from one owner, or was it one large plot that was then managed by some central authority, or some else entirely. Thank you.
