In a shower, the European showerheads are way ovehead: You stand uo staight under the flow of the water (remember the episode from Seinfeld, where Kramer got one from Canada?)

Or on a bathtub, they have a hand-held shower head, that rests on a stand, placed on the opposite side of the bathtub from where you get in (looks like an old style telephone)

Different from an american shower. When you get up in the morning, you just wash your face and run some cologne in your hair. The europeans are known for having lower standards or cleanliness.

Lady: Hey co-worker, your hair looks all greasy and you smell funny, did you even take a shower this morning?
Guy: Yea, i took a european shower.

Hey man: 1. Average apartment size: European countries are smaller and have less space. You have a higher population density. There simply isn't the space for everyone to be living in a giant house. 2. Americans tend to take up much more space than needed (eg. a single person buying a 3 bedroom-home or a family of 3 living in a 4-bedroom place). 3. And your comment about "being forced" to live with fewer rooms and space. Apparently you have no concept of economics/supply and demand. A small land area with high population density = not much supply but high demand. This means that the cost of having a large place would be very high, thus the smart economic decision is to live in a smaller place or move to the countryside and buy a house, but most don't want to live in the middle of nowhere. Move to New York, Boston, Chicago, LA (ie. big cities with high costs) and I guarantee that you will "be forced" to live with less space. You are entitled to your opinion but you clearly lack an understanding of basic economics and concepts of basic physics. The US: lots of land + low population density = cheaper housing costs and the ability to have large spaces (eg. high supply, medium demand). Average European country not much land + high population density = higher costs/smaller spaces (low supply, high demand).
