Why do people say legos for all toy blocks that snap togeather, why do people say Xerox when they are using an HP copier?

Because at google all you can do is search for things. You can't play games or chat, or do any of the things you can do for yahoo. So if I were going to "yahoo" something would I be looking for a game or to chat or to answer someones question? But with google I can only be looking for an answer. I say that I'm going to google something and I don't even use google. I just use it to mean I'm going to look something up online.

b/c people actually use google. Yahoo is more known for it's web portals and other services like yahoo answers, yahoo widget engine, yahoo 360, etc, than it's search engine, which has an ugly interface. Actually, no, it's known for it's search too, but it's search sucks.
Edit: and the word 'google' is just a different spelling of 'googol', which means 10^100, or 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Maybe because "yahoo" was already a word in the English language (an exclamation of joy, etc)? The word "google" has no other use but to refer to the Google site and it's search function.

google is just soooooo popular .. i hate to admit it but i am one of the people who always goes right to google
(plus google this sounds better then yahoo that!)
