LOL...pickles don't grow on trees! They start out as cucumbers in the ground. I could tape them on the tree for you...in zone 5 huh?

I have given you a link to a pickle tree description, but they are not hardy in zone 5, more like zone 7 or 8. For everyone else, no they do not grow actual pickles, but the fruit resembles tiny cucumbers. Maybe if you have a greenhouse or solarium that is sunny and warmer than outdoors you can get them to grow, but I am not sure. Good luck if you try!

I hope I'm right on this one, otherwise I'll just sound really stupid.

Pickles come from cucumbers. In fact they are . . . pickled cucumbers. Cucumbers are grown as plants, not as trees.

My father was always a big gardner when I was growing up in rural West Virginia. So that fact will either be beneficial to backing up my answer, or beneficial to making me look like a really dumb hillbilly. LOL.
