whats it mean on tv? (different question)?

when before a police investigation show or something is on, it says "viewer discretion advised", meaning?

It means use discretion. If you know kids are going to be in the room it might not be something they should watch. Especially if it's about murders, killings, etc. because they like to show real pictures of the crime scene, dead bodies, etc.

It means that the show might not be suitable for children to watch.

it means the show may be too bad (violence alcohol ex.) for kids so an adult should watch it first.
