At the visit to the gynecologist you will have a short general physical exam including a breast exam. You will wear some sort of hospital gown and nothing else. For the actual pelvic examination, you will lie down on an examining table with your feet resting in elevated "stirrups" -- props that support your legs in the air. Stirrups might look a little scary, but they are really just there to rest your feet in and keep you more comfortable. Your legs will be spread apart. It IS alittle scary i cried my first time and had to have my grandmother hold my hand LOL it's just alittle uncomfortable they use a lub so it doesn't hurt that much just alittle pressure. All you have to do is relax which i know is hard to do but it only takes five minutes

i had mine on the instant it did surely form of injury to be hassle-free are you getting a rectal examination besides? I had to get one completed too which doesnt injury as plenty or in any respect. the gyn is gonna ask so which you may get bare and all and you will positioned on a well being center gown she would be in a position to place your legs aside into like stirrups (like ure having a toddler) and commonplace examine the outer section then the interior your well being care expert will first insert 2 hands and then a speculum and such the speculum seems frightening and painful and it form of is unquestionably it grew to become into for me its no longer continually so painful nonetheless they are going to take a pap smear and all that crap how previous are you? don't be so scared its merely very uncomfortable and kinda painful. the rectal examination isn't something your on ure abdomen yet first you're able to have a suppository inserted so which you will empty out bowels or perhaps an enema after which you will lie on your abdomen and your well being care expert will stick in a finger and then a tube to examine out some stuff dont be so irritating its no longer tht painful your mom can comprise you in case you pick

If you are tense it will be more difficult. Once you are on the table and ready for the exam, get comfortable and take a few deep breaths, and relax it will be mush easier and less uncomfortable. Most everyone going for the first pelvic exam feels scared and tense, and be assured they are professionals and do it as quickly as possible.

Maybe now is a great time to have a sit down talk with your Mom.
Ask her. No, pelvic exams don't hurt. You'll be just fine.

They can be a little uncomfortable. I am not trying to be sexist but it really is better to have it performed by a woman..the men ob/gyn's that gave me an exam were kind of rough. But it is usually pretty quick. Try not to freak out! You'll be alright.

Anyone telling you it'll hurt is full of crap. There isn't any pain, it's just a little embarrassing, thats all. It's going to be fine, and the best part is it goes by REALLY fast. Seriously, the embarrassing parts last 5 minutes tops. It'll be fine.

Yes it does hurt, at least for me it did. The people who are saying it doesn't hurt were probably already having sex before they had the exam.

It won't hurt and the nurse or doctor examining you will tell you everything they will do step by step. Yes they will check your uterus size and will use an instrument to open your vagina. This is done to collect samples to routinely check for yeast, bacteria, viruses, and cancer. This is important for your well-being. No one ever gets used to it so don't be embarassed.
