You know, at this point in time, I would be wondering if that technology could be safely used so that children (and those with obvious infirmities) could be found if they were kidnapped, injured, harmed in any way ... and I see the SAFETY aspects of this application.
IF it was available, and given that I AM a SURVIVOR of a short disaster of a marriage to an abusive, violent ex (who also abused my children, was convicted, stole from others/me, burglarized my residence, damaged/destroyed my property, and assaulted me (among other things)) ... I can definitely say that I SEE the SAFETY Applications of this -- use of GPS to find where the person is in case of kidnapping, assault/battery, injury, or death.

I think it's a great idea. If the child is ever kidnapped or lost GPS can hone in on the exact location. In this day in age we have the technology so why not use it? I definitely would do this if I had kids. Microchips in pets have been used for years. I'm sure a little chip under the skin would be perfectly fine. The only exception being a metal allergy of some sort. Other than that, the benefits outweigh the risks.

I relatively disagree with an implanted chip, yet I do think of that comparable technologies has its place. My husband's cousin has Down syndrome, and whilst she replaced into approximately 9 the police discovered her wandering down the line in merely her pajamas in the midst of wintry climate. She had long previous to discover her mom, who'd long previous on a walk, and her dad did not hear her pass away the homestead. They offered a GPS look ahead to her to positioned on. It had a lock so she could not get it off. regrettably, they examined it, and the employer replaced into unable to discover the watch on their equipment, so as that they back it. i think of something like this is a large concept, nonetheless, particularly for taking your baby to crowded places such because of the fact the mall or an entertainment park. The chip does sound very apocalyptic to me nonetheless!

I would say yes and no, I feel that if my child went missing I would regret not gettin the chip. I feel it could prevent alot of fatal outcomes of children kidnappings but I do feel that the chips should be removed BY LAW at the age of 18.

It should totally not happen... implanting the chip would have severe side effects and would cause the child to grow up to be "special" (handicapped)... it would also reduce the responsibility of parents as they would not have to worry about their child anymore which in turn would ruin parent and child bond...

No but only because if an abusive parent/spouse was trying to locate the victim they would be able to track them with no problem. And if this concern could be overcome, you would have the right to have it removed at age 18.

I would never have that done to my child. There are better ways to keep track of your children. Plus, think of how the government could use that technology. Gives me the creeps.

No thank you. It gives the government too much power. The goal of protecting lost children does not justify the means that you speak of. Too dangerous. Good Luck! :)

Could be very useful. I wouldn't feel save knowing I was being tracked like a dog or cat. I would say yes but just as long as I don't have one.
