well so everyone in my class has to write an essay on something that we would want to invent and tell what it does and why it is useful and it has to be 500 words no more or less and i am having a hard time comming up with a topic. so can anyone please help me with it. it is a contest and i really want to win it because i have never really won anything in school. i mostly just win things in sports.

How about a robot that does your homework for you? Or something that inserts books/papers in your brain so that you don't ever have to study again? That would make life a lot easier, at least for me. lol

If you like civil engineering:
(1) the water that is used for baths and showers is relatively clean (except for soap residue or hair etc).
Question: Could this water be stored and re-used to flush the toilet, which does not need to be totally clean water, and which otherwise wastes 3-5 gallons per flush? Is there a way to create a storage tank in the wall that can be used for the toilet tank to save on water consumption without creating a sanitary issue or other complications?
If you like technology applied to medicine, here is a real challenge I believe will be pursued soon:
(2) spiritual treatment through healing prayer has been documented as curing a wide range of illnesses from schizophrenia and rheumatoid arthritis -- (as referenced "Healing" by Francis MacNutt edition 2003 or later, and also "Prayer is Good Medicine") -- if the lack of healing is caused by a "demonic" negative energy block in the person that spiritual therapy and prayer can remove to allow more or full healing to take place. Results vary from case to case, but medical studies show positive results more than neutral, and have never shown negative effects of prayer as long as it is used in conjunction with and not in place of medicine and therapy.
Question: How can nanotechnology or MRI scans be used to "prove" the existence of negative energy particles or waves or chemistry in the brain or body of a person who exhibits symptoms of demonic infestation, and also "prove" that this energy has been removed after prayer has healed the person? Can science be used to prove the existence of spiritual influences and healing through prayer and/oir psychotherapy?
Importance: If this spiritual process can be measured and documented scientifically as a medical procedure, then offering such treatment would not only revolutionize medicine but would specifically impact the mental health and criminal justice system where addictions and violence could be prevented by diagnosing and curing criminal illness in advance before someone gets hurt.

i'm bad at stuff like this, and it probably won't be all that great unless you come up wtih teh topic yourself and it's something you're excited about. So i would suggest thinking about a problem you have in your life and think of something that could solve it. like, a mechanical pencil that never runs out of lead.
