You and your friend have known each other since elementary. You practically grew up together. You have been there for her when she has needed/requested your presence, you are there to give advice when she asks you, you have been there during loss of family, etc. However, when you ask something of her (i.e., nothing out of the ordinary...trust), she gives you a flat out no or simply an "I can't make it". Do you think you would deserve more than that? Even if it is as simple she doesn't want to do something because she doesn't want to...... Your comments please! Thanks in advance......

A true friend would try to make it. And would have a DAMN good reason for not making it. They would be more than willing to share the reason why they couldn't make it.

I don't think that you owe her any explanations about the party. That is really so small, I can't see why all the drama over it. As for the renting, you forgot. I can see why she would be a little upset but I'm sure you apologized. I think the two of you just need to have a long talk about why you are friends in the first place.

She is not much of a friend. Friendship is 50 50 she isn't holding up her part. Maybe someone else should be moved up to BIFF status and she knocked down a spot or two . If your there for her the least she can do is help you out or be there for you 30% of the time. Talk to her let her know you feel that she does not take your friendship seriously.

Nope I wouldn't expect an explanation. I don't have friendships because I expect something from someone just because I help them out. I help people out because I love them...not because I expect something in return and I don't need an explanation as to why they can't return the favors.

She can do what she want's. If she doesn't want to do something, she doesn't want to do it and shouldn't feel obligated. Some friends are good, some aren't as good, some are good for hanging out and getting into trouble with, others are good as a shoulder to cry on. It's probably just the type of person she is. Let her be who she is and you can continue to be the better friend.

I would talk to her about it. Maybe she feels like you haven't been there for her, or maybe something is going on that she's not quite sure that she wants anyone to know. I'd call her asking if anything was wrong. <3 best of luck.

Fair-weather friend! That is unfair to you because it sounds like perhaps you are making 75% of the relationship. I am sorry to hear you are treated without much regard..

Sometimes people just grow apart. I don't think you should feel intitled to run to her side when she needs someone nor should she. If you really want tostay friends don't expect to much from each other.

No, she doesn't owe you an explanation! Just leave it at apparently she is doing something that she doesn't feel comfortable telling you about!! :) Are you sure you're really friends?

Obviously she isn't a very good friend. Tell her what you just wrote and if she doesn't respond or if she doesn't care it's time to find a real friend who cares about YOU, not just what you do for her.
