I think D. E. was the best from all of the history books I have read about him. Todays presidents have done nothing to improve us in any way. We are getting involved in wars that we should have never been in, lending out money to the same countries that still owed us money, and letting disbelievers tell us want and when we can be what we want to be or do.

I am wondering who "D.E." is?

I haven't read all of the answers that you've gotten here, but I'll begin by saying that I'm a lifelong Democrat.

Several presidents have done extraordinary things (both good and bad).

My own opinion is that the man whose statue is on the National Mall in Washington DC was best. Abraham Lincoln. He kept the country together during the Civil War, came from very humble beginnings and suffered from depression all through it.

Bill Clinton. Moral issues aside (Very few of our presidents have been completetly moral people,it is nice to know they are human too) he was the best president . Under his administration we had a not only a balanced budget but a surplus. Our nation was at an all time high as far as the respect we had from the rest of the world, other leaders liked him and he was very charismatic.

Well, William Henry Harrison made the fewest mistakes. His only mistake was talking for 2 hours while standing in a blizzard with out a hat or coat. That was the last mistake he ever made.

Lincoln got us through the toughest period in our history, so he gets my vote. In my lifetime, Reagan.

President Kennedy, if it wasn't for his futuristic idea's about
space, we wouldn't have all this amazing technology we
have today.
He also did alot for civil rights, but was assassinated before
he could see his ideas carried out.
