i cant connect limewire to the internet. i'm using windows xp sp2 and have an active connection. can someone help me?

a) dont use limewire its encoded w/ hidden files such as kazza and grokster
b)its illegal
c)try re-installing it
d)ares is better

Yeah! What trump said! Shareaza! Torrents are must faster than P2P.

If you have a router, you have to open the port that Limewire uses in your router's config page. If you have a software firewall on your pc, you should configure it to trust Limewire or to allow Limewire access to the Interent..

And simply having p2p software on your computer is not illegal. There are legal uses for these programs.

limewire is crap. pardon my lanauage. use a program that i have been using for years. its called Shareaza. you can seach any file from tons of servers as well it will handle any torrents you download.

most likely its windows firewall, another software firewall, a router, or a modem that needs to be properly port-forwarded and configured .. it can also be some antivirus or antispyware apps that have "active" protection ..

erase it and redownload it. I had the same problem.
