Not Changing its name. It is Incorporating the phrase "Kentucky Fried Chicken" along with a more classic image of Colonel Sanders into their new marketing strategy and their new restaurant remodeled "look"

here's a link to the press release, and a cut-and-paste of the appropriate paragraph...

"...Design features for the U.S. may include:

Bright, bold graphics on the restaurant exterior and interior that incorporate the Kentucky Fried Chicken name as well as KFC, communicate a fresh sense of brand pride. African American artist Charly (Carlos) Palmer took KFC's ..."

Just for fun, here. "KFC" or "Kentucky Fried Chick" - which name would you use and why?

Background: some 14 years ago, the name was changed from Kentucky Fried Chicken to KFC to downplay the word fried, which has negative, unhealthy implications. But now they are considering changing back to the old name - perhaps there is still more brand value in the full name than in KFC. Just saw a commercial where the old generation meets the young

yes there gonna slowly remove the KFC name over the years. The person that posted the links was able to find the article, however I don't know why they had to put the word "African-American" before the artists name that designed the new Kentucky Fried Chicken logo. Anyways I am glad they are using the full name again.

KFC is now and has always been Kentucky Fried Chicken. It was shortened to take the "fried" out of it. I couldn't tell you where a link would be, but know this. It has ALWAYS been Kentucky Fried Chicken.

http://www.kfc.com/ Look at the header at the top - it says Kentucky Fried Chicken - not KFC any more. Also, they just redid the logo - Colonel Sanders now wears an apron.
