Oddly, Thailand is a great place to get clothes at really cheap prices.
I would reccoment taking very little and an empty bag and then buying while you are there. If it is rubbish stuff then you can leave it and come back with an empty bag too - would avoid the queues at the airport. If it is worthwhile then you have a new set of clothes for the English summer, if and when it arrives

I was in Thailand three years ago and I can tell you, the shopping there is incredible. If you are a small size, you will find very nice bargains in clothing, shoes and anything silk. However, if you are unaware of one thing, I'll tell you before you go. NO ONE wears shorts over there. I'm serious. When we went, my mother had been there and she said no one wears shorts. Skirts and dresses for the women. Capris are OK.. I didn't believe her. She was right. Go figure. Even the school children wear skirts (uniforms) BTW we were in Bangkok. I'm not sure about Phuket. Have fun and don't forget your camera.

You can try the airport. They usually have shops that sell mainly summer clothes because obviously people are going to sunny climates. Also you can try a clothes catelogue as they are probably doing lighter clothes now. Or just buy them there they will be cheap and cheerful. I know buy a nice sari type thing when you get there and feel like a native. Have a nice holiday X

There are a lot of online clothes stores that sell summer stuff. I am going on a cruise next week and that is what I ended up doing. Here is the directory of online clothes stores that I used. Hope it helps...

You can buy summer clothes over the internet. Try ASOS (www.asos.co.uk). It sells all types of clothes and accessories.
