I did the same with our dog when my wife accidentaly stepped on its hind leg. I had to carry her up and down the stairs and outside and feed her just like you are doing with your dog...... I think it's very loving of you.

Your husband is jealous, girl! He should stop hating. I'm so sorry for you and your dachshund. I'm sure he's striving and unhappy right now. Good for you, the dachshund totally does deserve being loved and well fed at a time like this, good for you and God bless to both of you - take care.

Well it's one thing to care for the injured dog and it another to get carried away with it a hurt leg doesn't mean you need to hand feed or spoil it. I can understand carring it outside to do it's business. I think you hubby feels you are going overboard though.

Dachshunds are notorious for damaging their backs. Any injury to the hind legs and/or back should be checked by a vet. If this is not possible restrict your pets movements by placing him in to playpen until he recovers. Never let a dachshund jump on/off furniture.

I tend to agree with your husband. Rather than guess that he's jealous of the dog, I think he just has a different view of how dogs should be treated.

A little bit of puppy spoiling goes a long way. Check to see how he can get around on his own or you may be "making" a monster. Dogs love attention. SO do husbands! :o)

Your hubby is probably not jealous, but men don't usually have a thing like we do about our animals. I baby my Yorkie all the time, but you don't see my hubby doing it. He just says, 'oh, he'll be alright. He's a big dog.' Yeah, really big at 3 pounds, lol. You aren't doing anything wrong. Just keep loving the dog and ignore your hubby's comments.

I to have a dog and i understand that your dog may have a poorly leg...its better that he supports his own weight so that it mends itself....you could be making things worse by carrying him everywhere......hes gotta keep the joint moving.....put the dog down lol.....he'll be fine....if he cant make it to the garden then get some puppy training pads that you can lay out of kitchen floor....they are far better than newspaper.
hope poor doggy gets better soon!
I have a 12 month old cavalier king charles....he's v cheeky!

That's o.k. - as long as you still take good care of the husband too, he sounds a bit jealous. If the dog is not better by tomorrow you may need to take him to the doctor.

Are you sure his legs not broke? As for your Husband tell him he's too big for you to carry around, and to quit being jealous.Nothing wrong with carying your dog around, That's your baby.
