I have the equation v = d/t. I need to find time, but I can't seem to remember how to flip the equation around to equal t. Pathetic, I know...

Thanks everyone!
I have another question. I have the equation d = 1/2at^2. I need to find t, once again. Would it be t = the square root of 2ad?

Considering V=D/T, to get rid of D, you must times it by 1/D which makes it V/D=T

First -- I always find it easier if I plug in actual units.
So velocity (miles per hour) = distance (miles) / time (hours).
Multiplying both sides by t (hours) yields
V (miles per hour) x t (hours) = d (miles)
Dividing both sides by v yields
t (hours) = d (miles) / v (miles per hour)
If you factored out the miles / miles, and inverted the hours in the lower part of the fraction, you would get the units as hours = hours, so t = d / v is correct.
For the second question, d = 1/2 a(t)(t), which means
2d = a (t)(t), so
2d/a = t(t).
Thus t equals the square root of 2d/a.

vxd=t. Remember, to get a variable by itself, just do teh opposite operation to get anything on the same side away from it.
For example. If it's 12=6x, you need to divide both sides by 6 to get x by itself.
If it's 12=x+6, you need to subtract 6 from both sides.

v = d/t
Multiply each side by "t" to remove the fraction and take "t" to the other side
tv=d
Divide by "v" on both sides to get "t" by itself
t=d/v
