Once you get back on a regular period cycle when you get off the pill, you can get pregnant. Some people say that takes several months to get on a regular schedule--that wasn't true for me. When I quite the pill, I started a normal cycle right away--and I was ovulating right away. Another interesting thing I was told is that you are more fertile in the month or two after coming off the pill--I heard that from a nurse.
I would encourage you to take an ovulation test starting on day 10 of your cycle just to see if you are indeed ovulating. I used the ClearBlue Easy Digital Ovulation Prediction test--very accurate in my opinion. I am currently 14 weeks pregnant, so it worked for me.
Good luck!

everyone is different . . . I was on the pill for years and with my 1st child it took 4 months and with my 2nd over a year . . . keep a close watch on your cycle so you can know when you are ovulating. The doctor told me that 10-14 days after the first day of your last period is when ovulation can occur. Also told me to have sex every OTHER day (instead of every day) during that time so that sperm counts could build up (ie: day 10, day 12, day 14). I'm sure that you are anxious but be patient . . . 2 months isn't that long at all and it will happen soon!

You should be taking your tempature and figuring out when you're ovulating. There's also over the counter ovulation tests. Doctors recommend that you only have sex during this time frame because it will increase the sperm count of your husband. So he can't be 'handling business' for himself when ever he wants. There are proven natural methods that you can Google. You should have success soon though cause all those horomones should be out of your body by now. Good luck.

It varies from person to person. It also depends on how long you have been on the pill. Give yourself a year before thinking you'll have trouble. It took me 2 years to get pregnant the first time and 2 weeks to get pregnant the second time.

Hi,
Before I answer your question, I want to tell that how " OCPs" i.e. Oral Contraceptives works?
Why does females don't have pregnancy or conceive while having or taking " Pills".
The Pills are made of hormones, either natural , synthetic or semi-synthetic and these hormones , commonly known as
"Estrogens and Androgens" are responsible for all the stages of preparation before fertilization ( meeting of male sperm to female ovum and its implantation in uterus and maintaince of pregnancy till the delivery. So, there is fluctuations in their ratio of secretion to manage all these highly complex and extremely precize processes on micro and macro level.
These hormones , though artifiscially taken, has the same effect as produced by our own body. These hormones induce " PSEUDO-PREGNENCY STATE" and our body receives these signals and certain changes occur in Uterus or in its layers namely " Endometrium and myometrium" and being in " pseudo-pregnancy state" they do not accept the fertilized egg and implantation does not occur. This " Inability for implantation" leads to a safe or pregnancy free time.
However, their long term use also disturbed the normal axis which exists between Ovary, Hypothalamus, Pituatary due to both negative and positive feed back. So disturbance or imbalance between them may cause a period of " Infertility" which under normal conditions and situations is not long. ( In others, it may be for a while".
On the other hand, sudden break in usage of these pills may induce ovulation and unexpected pregnancy.
Assuming that you are young enough ( below 35 ) , You have very strong chances to conceive within a year. ( Usually normal period to declare a couple infertile is approximately 2 years)
Now, If you want to conceive as early as possible, then you must consult your gynecologist and she will advice you how to determine the approximate time of ovulation. So you can proceed accordingly. There are different methods to do it. By lab tests and by simply maintaining the chart of your body temperature at home at the time of wake-up and then making a graph. ( NOt a big deal....trust me)
However, If your husband is in late 30s, he must have a semen analysis to rule out any decrese in sperm count(Oligospermia) and their normal motility
In short, if your periods are normal, your uterus does not have thick mucus, and your husband is fit to produce normal count of sperms, You can expect it at any time. Usually twice a week intercouse is recommended because after one ejaculation, it normally take two days for sperms to get mature enough to be able to fertilize or penetrate into ovum porvided every other thing is normal.
If you are suffering from any menstrual irregularities or in between spotting, it will be beneficial if you get contact to your doctor. He or She will be in best position to guide you on individual basis.
Wishing you best of luck and early conception.
With Regards:
