Every child is different. I have six: my first one crawled at 5 months, walked at 8 months, and ran by 9 months. Then my other children all were all pretty average with each other, each walking right around 12 months, my last even taking her first steps at her first birthday party a few years back. My opinion...doesn't matter when they walk as long as you are there encouraging them and loving them all the way. Congrats and prayers!

My baby learned to crawl at seven months and learned to walk at 10 months. But all babies are different, my baby is the "can't sit still ants in her pants' type! The funny thing with her, she would not lock her legs up until 7 months and I was so sure she was going stick to crawling for a long time, so you never can tell! I think though if your baby is cruising (walking while holding on to the table or sofa) then it will be very soon that she learns to walk!

All babies are different. Just because they start crawling earlier doesn't mean they'll start walking right away. My son started crawling at 7 months but didn't walk until 13 months.

My first son did it backwards. He walked ( 7 months) then crawled ( 9 months). He figured out it was faster to crawl then to walk and quit walking to crawl everywhere. it's ok though he went back to walking. Our six month old is starting to crawl but stands and holds himself up on stuff, so I guess every baby is different.

She could. My daughter started crawling around 8 months old, and walked at 9 months. It took her no time at all. All kids are different. I would say that yes, she will probably be walking by 12 months.

Crawling around 9 months, and went immediately to standing, shuffling, and eventually walking. She could walk behind a toy with wheels at 11 months.

I have three children...and each of them started walking at different ages. My daughter was 13 months...due to the fact that she weighed 23 pounds at 9 months! She was a bit chubby! My oldest son was 9 months when he started walking...and I think my youngest was around 10 or 11 months. As far as walking by her 1st birthday...only time will tell.

My son crawled at 7 months but didnt walk until he was 14 months old. Studies have shown that the longer a child crawls the better readers they will be. Dont know if its true but thats what I say when people tell me my son walked late. If she is standing up on things that is a good sign. Good Luck and Take Care.
-Enjoy this time of her discovering all sorts of new things - its amazing!

My baby learned to walk around the furniture before he learned to crawl. The two aren't related.
You need balance to walk and not to crawl. Also many children are afraid of walking unassisted and they need to be mentally ready as well as physically.

My first crawled at 11 mths and then walked at about 14 mths...lol..he hated being on the floor...beds,sofas and chair were all ok ...just no floor.lol
My second crawled about 8 mths and was walking at about 11 and 1/2 mths.
My third was crawling around 7 mths and walked at around 10 to 11 mths. The younger 2 did it sooner because they had an older sibling to help out.
I think that if your daughter is crawling at 8 mths...I'm pretty sure she will be walking by 12 mths.\if she doesn't have any older siblings....try taking her around toddlers who are walking. This will help get her motivated to get up and get around on her feet. But, she sounds like she is right on track to me.
