I am 38 weeks pregnant, and when I got home today from work, my mom's dog has been pratically sitting on top of me, which he never does. The only reason he leaves my side is for food...Could he know something that I don't...like that I may be getting ready to go into labor?

They do know things like that. In fact dogs have even notified their owners of breast cancer and heart attacks. Dogs are very attuned to bodily changes in people, so I would say it's very likely that the dog is trying to tell you something. Pay attention to your body right now, just in case the dog is trying to tell you that something is wrong, but most likely the dog senses you are close to delivery. Good Luck and Congrats!

I live with my grandmother and her dog and I could care less about each other. When I was in labor with my son (and I wasn't aware that I was in labor at the time!!), he laid by my side the entire time I was home. I do believe animals can sense these things.
