Tonight's full moon can be called (the) Old Moon, Wolf Moon, Moon After Yule or Ice Moon.
Ask any cop or bartender if a 'full moon' affects people; see what they say.
But
"Psychologists have found that there is no strong evidence for effects on behaviour around Full Moon. They find that studies are not consistent, with some showing a positive effect, while others will show a negative effect. In one instance, the December 23, 2000 issue of the British Medical Journal published two studies on dog bite admission to hospitals in England and Australia. The study of the Bradford Royal Infirmary found that dog bites were twice as common at Full Moon, while the study of public hospitals in Australia found they were less likely at Full Moon. Psychologists point out that there is a difference between correlation and causation. The mere fact that two events happen at the same time doesn't mean that there is a cause and effect relationship between the two.
Southeast Asian and Western folklore long ago established the Full Moon as the time for werewolves and vampires to awaken, or appear most often. As suggested in the film Wolf (1994; Jack Nicholson, Michelle Pfeiffer, James Spader; Directed by Mike Nichols) the creators of these myths explained away violence occurring during the middle of each month, when in fact the moon simply adds more light to the evening sky. This allows criminals to act more freely. It also helped assuage the guilt of the masses for not doing more to stop violent crime, and freed people to vilify brutality, while fantasizing and apologizing for it.
Full Moons are traditionally associated with temporal insomnia, insanity (hence the terms lunacy and lunatic) and various magical phenomena such as lycanthropy.

I have this friend who told a guy on our college course that he was a werewolf and this guy believed him! He comes up and asks my friend how he's feeling and how did he sleep and all that! You don't half get some funny ones at the local college you know!
Anyway, I don't think it really does change us, and if it is it must be like a placebo sort of thing, if we are told we act differently then maybe we will?
I just read Fencer's answer, my aunt gave birth last night, maybe that's because of the moon (she was due the day before but you know, spawn of satan and all that! only joking, I'm sure the kids lovely...)

The moon has the power to move tonnes of water around the planet (tides) we are 80% made up of water, I would imagine we are affected. I certainly feel a bit madder than usual at that time of the month! A lot of friends I know do as well.

Yes, because the tides are affected. So to a certain degree I think moods are affected. Witches watch the moon and do spells at different times according to the moon!

No the moon is there in orbit regardless if it is full or new or any phase in between. Full moon is just more reflected sun light coming to earth. The sun reflecting light from the moon's dusty and rocky surface has no mystic effect or physical phenomena.
The tides are effected regardless of moon phase and the moon gravity is constant and not affected with sunlight falling on the moon's surface.
Sorry to break the romance but the natural science is fact.

I find it affects me in weird ways, mainly my mood but I guess that could be down to being female and the moon having a great affect on my cycles but there is a lot of research that has been completed on this subject so there has to be something in it.

I seem to have trouble sleeping at that time, I am wide awake all night. I wouldn't want to bet that it is really the moon's "fault", but it seems to coincide with full moon every month. So this'll be another night on Yahoo! Answers then.. ;o)

My dear where have you been? Where do you think the term "lunatic" comes from? It has been a well known fact for decades that the full moon exacerbates some mental illnesses, caused by the gravitational effect of "la lune".
