hi, i am going to be a father in 2 months!(first time). while i was searching for infant car seats, i was told that not all the car seats will fit correctly to all vehicles. i tried many searches but none of them gave me a clear answer about which one would be the best car seat for odyssey minivan. ( i am from a different country where car seats are not required for infants, and i have been in america for only a short while). i am pretty confused about what to buy.so some one pleaseeeee help me with some helpful suggestions based on your personal experience. thank you

Absolute best is the Cosco "Alpha Omega" It converts from an infant to toddler car seat and then to a booster so you don't have to buy anything else. A little expensive on the front end, but cheaper than buying a separate toddler and booster seat later. Great safely ratings. If your Odyssey is relatively new, it should also have steel loops attached to the frame that the Alpha Omega can hook directly to, making it much more secure.

You could consider the Graco travel system. It comes with a stroller, car seat base and a car seat. You just hook the base in your minivan and move the car seat back and forth from stroller to base. You don't have to take the baby in and out everytime. Make a trip to babies r us and ask specifically for travel systems. Shopping online won't give you a good idea if you are a first time parent. We were very happy with ours. Good luck.

Go to the store and see if they will let you try the car seat out in the parking lot.
