The United States supported Iraq and Saddam in the war against Iran. It seems Iran was the greater enemy at the time. But alas. Saddam obviously did not bow correctly to the USA, and subsequently became part of the infamous axis of evil.

There is considerable speculation that the CIA attempted to create insurrection in Iraq in order to unseat Saddam, and that Saddam's subsequent violence against his own people was an attempt to thwart the CIA sponsored insurrections.

Starting a war against another county is only a crime if you lose the war. History dictates that the victor gets the spoils. No country or national leader has ever been convicted of war crimes while they were victorious.

National politics is certainly an ugly and evil business!

Hey, I.M. so did the whole Arabian Peninsula ! Everyone was worried about a Shia Revolution in the Middle East. Kuwait, Saudi, Bahrain, most of Europe and Asia were as well. Heck, France sold weapons to Iraq, Russia sells Nuclear Technology to Iran. Its a world market, get used to it !

well he didn't get trialled for alot of other things but they just couldn't wait as he was too much of a problem alive and remember that he was supported by USA while on war with Iran (as they refused the idea of the islamic revolution in Iran) so bringing that issue up wouldn't have been convenient to the US.

with the aid of fact the different deaths could implicate the strikes of the rustic and different western governments at a time while they supported him. this is why he grew to become into in basic terms tried on the single fee and complete in the previous the different trials. He did no longer carry out his atrocities on my own and a few of his accomplices have been positioned back in potential through the occupying forces. The torture chambers are open for employer back.

Well technically is not a crime, nor it should be, wars are good for cleaning messed things. But Bush is as guilty as Saddam, people in Iraq is not more happy with Bush rule than with Hussein's.

Not necessarily. I guess the Iraqi leaders thought they had a stronger case on this 1. It was evidently strong enough, that's all that really matters.

Nope, it's not.

In a perfect world, it would be, but this isn't a perfect world.
