In cases where custody is contested between divorcing spouses, the mother gets custody in over 80% of the instances. If the father gets custody, you can bet that the mother has to be pretty messed up. I've read of crack addict moms getting custody of kids instead of the children going to a decent home with their father.
There is a definite skew in favour of the mother in family courts. What is going on in Bedard's life that kept her from getting the kids? Is she mentally unstable?
Regardless. She did not have legal custody of the child, and she took the kid out of the country. She broke the law and must take the consequences of her actions.

I just read the article on her, and it appears that there's more here than is being printed. And since I don't know the whole story, it's impossible to make an intellilgent judgement.
If she lost custody of her daughter in the divorce, then, yes, she can kidnap her. Regardless of whether or not you think it's fair. It's the law.

I think she got a raw deal, all the way round...her ex is just bitter, he only saw the child 20 days last year or something like that.....
