No, cutting your hair does not provide more nutrition for the baby, and I can't even imagine where you would come up with that idea??
I guess they cut it because they want an easier style, they are tired, looking for a change, etc.

With my oldest son, I cut my hair. It was more an issue that I was feeling *blah* and needed an emotional boost. I didn't cut my hair with any of the rest of my kids. Plus, when my son was born and I was so busy with him, I didn't feel like fixing my hair, so when I had it cut, I made sure that it was an easy style. So I guess another reason was for convenience.

I had to smile when I read your question, because I cut my hair while I was pregnant for a very specific reason...my head was KILLING ME! LOL I suffered from severe head aches during my 2nd trimester and I had tried everything...massage, hot baths, tylenol up the wazzooo, chiropactor, a holistic therapist...NOTHING would work. So, one day, I said, "THAT'S IT!" I went to a stylist and said, "CHOP IT OFF!" I thought that MAYBE I could relieve the pressure on my head by cutting all my hair off....didn't work.
I'm sure many women are feeling "ugly" during their pregnancy and are looking for a change. But, when it came to me? I needed relief! I would've shaved myself BALD if I knew it would give me a brake from the headaches. LOL

Its just easier to deal with short hair. I never cut my hair when pregnant - but I know a lot of women who did and they all said it was because it was easier to style and less time consuming

I have never heard anything so ridiculous in my life(no offense)
Excuse me but actually cutting your hair will promote it's growth.Your hair has nothing to do with your unborn baby
until it is born and that he/she may possibly like to pull it..???
Your hair has not one iota otherwise.Maybe they think
pregnancy is a trudge.It's not thats another myth.It is a \
natural state .You can paint your nails too!...lol

not all pregnant women do.....in fact i know more who grow their hair out than get it cut. And every one should get thier hair cut at least every 2 months (i.e. a trim) to keep it looking healthy and nice.
