Feingold was instramental is one of the greatest abridgements of free speech in this country. He should be thrown out of the Senate in disgrace.
The McCain-Feingold Capaign Finance Reform forbids political ads by a great many special interests 60 days before an election. That means groups like the NRA, Sierra Club, etc. can't go on the air and tell you that candidate X has a horrible record on Issue Y, and you should vote for the other guy.
If the 1st Amendment doesn't protect speech like this, then what good is it? The whole idea of freedom of speech is to have free exchanges of political ideas and knowledge.
This piece of legislation was far more harmful to our freedoms than anything Bush is alleged to have done!
Additional Comment: Why would Joe want to do that? If there were a shred of truth, you can bet the liberal media would have aired it, just like they aired the fake National Guard memo story.

Feingold was his own worst enemy. He couldn't clearly state was his foreign policy would be, and didn't think he could get away with saying he was simply anti-war and anti-imperialism. He was a victim of his own Kucinichophobia.
I think I could live with Obama, but right now I'm a Kucinich man.
