Does anyone know exactly what the actual quota was for a workplace with Affirmative Action. Was there a 10% minority or higher i would like to know. Thank you

I do not believe in AA. It is another form of racism. Whoever is best qualified should get the job.
What if 20% of the most qualified are minorities should we stop at 10% hire? We should not have quotas for anything.
If so - 80% of basketball players should be white.

Generally, places that used affirmative action quotas tried to create the same population mix in their organization as existed in the surrounding community.

quotas are actually illigal. you are suppose to base the number of minorites on the areas population. if you have a minority poputlation of 5% in your area, than your work force should at a minimum reflect that percentage. though these rules only apply when you have a certain amount of employees and not all states follow these guidelines.

I am not exactly sure, but I think when it started out the goal was to equal the percentage in the population. I think it was about 38% but I am really not sure. That number seems to stick in my mind for some reason.
Edit: I think that rabbi and henry have a better answer for you. It was based on the population in your area.

I wouldn't know and I don't care because I am not black or gay!!!
I am just a goo-k so I am not consider a minority = NY and LA hire more Blacks and gays for government job

not sure. don't care. glad my state made it illegal for universities and businesses to use race quotas. was a bunch of bullshit
